Reimagining the Care Journey

“Everything’s fine with a parent until it’s not, and when it’s not, you don’t know what to do…we just figured there had to be a better way.”

That’s how Homethrive Co-CEO David Greenberg describes his own personal journey with caregiving for his aging parents.

“You don’t know who to trust,” said Greenberg.  “You don’t even know what questions to ask.”

Co-CEO Dave Jacobs encountered a similar situation when his father became very ill and wanted to remain at home with his wife.

“It’s hard to be at home as you age,” said Jacobs.  “I knew that intellectually, professionally, and then I went through it personally.”

Both had successful careers at Medline, the largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of medical supplies in the country; both were spending hours a week orchestrating care for their parents from afar, and both yearned for something more, something that could address the caregiving crisis they were experiencing first-hand.

It’s what drove Greenberg and Jacobs to join forces to launch Homethrive a few years ago, and in the process, they’ve “reconstructed healthcare,” as laid out in this podcast by the same name.
